I too am a parent of a daughter named Jacqueline. We are also from New York. Tomorrow we will take that 5 hour drive ( up to 9 when you hit traffic) to watch her receive her degree in Communications. Penn State was the last school she applied to and she listed no secondary campus on her application. After all she told me, "Mom there is no secondary to the main Campus". She applied amidst the storm of controversy and I worried would it be the right choice should she be accepted. Well she was accepted, and in the long run it was her ultimate choice after being accepted to several other Big Ten schools including the University where her sister attended yes in Ohio. Literally Laugh Out Loud. Besides the excellent education she has received which to me was most important all the other experiences she has had at Penn State has helped to make her the young woman we are so proud of. She had her own Radio Show with her co-anchor Anna. She was a founding member of a Sorority. She danced in the Nutcracker. She worked in the Football Ticketing Office at Beaver Stadium. She was an intern for the Spikes Baseball Team in State College. She worked in Customer Relations At Pegula. And to top off her Senior Year She counted herself as a Dancer at Thon. A Life changing event she will always cherish. On Saturday her Penn State Experience will culminate in her receiving her Bachelors Degree from a prestigious University. But as I told her recently, A Nittany Lion she always will be. I am so happy she took us along for the ride. Enjoy it and every time your Jacqueline invites you to share her time at this University cherish it cause in three short years you may be writing a similar comment. All the best to you and your Jacqueline.WE ARE...
