Penn State id+ Card

Handing a student their id+ card
Posted over 3 years ago .

Your student’s Penn State id+ Card provides easy access to University resources and services, access to residence halls, athletic events, and testing centers. It is how students access the Campus Meal Plan, LionCash+, and (optional) PNC Bank accounts. All students are required by University policy to obtain and carry their Penn State id+ Card at all times.

As a part of orientation, students receive instructions to upload their photo through an online upload process. Your student’s card will be produced and ready for them when they arrive on campus or mailed to their permanent address. Please encourage your student to upload their photo as soon as possible. Instructions are included in their NSO Tasklist. For more information visit id+ Card - New Students.

LionCash+

LionCash+ is Penn State’s prepaid spending account. It is a safe and easy way for your student to make purchases on campus and around town. LionCash+ is the only way to pay for on-campus laundry and printing. To activate a student’s LionCash+ account, make an initial deposit online or at the id+ Office. There are no fees to use the account and balances carry over from semester to semester and from year to year.

For more information about how to add funds to LionCash+ and where LionCash+ is accepted, visit LionCash+.

PNC Bank Accounts

Through an exclusive banking partnership with PNC Bank, your student has the option to link a PNC checking account to the id+ card so the card can be used to get cash at any ATM. PNC makes banking easy for Penn State students, please refer to PNC - Penn State University.

PNC Student Banking can help your student manage their money — in college and beyond — with products and services that allow them to bank the way that works best for them.

PNC Bank + Penn State

  • ID Linking: Link your PNC bank account to your student ID and use it as an ATM card.
