Career Services has begun recruiting for Peer Career Assistants - an incredible opportunity to be trained to make a valuable contribution to the mission of Penn State Career Services by assisting fellow Penn State students with the following:

  • Resume and cover letter editing and development
  • Job and internship searching
  • Interview preparation and mock interviews
  • Online resources use, such as Nittany Lion Careers, LinkedIn, and our Career Resource Center resources

Being a Peer Career Assistant allows you to help other students while building your professional portfolio.

  • Perfect interviewing and resume skills and knowledge

  • After completing required course for credit, hours worked at Career Services are paid employment

How do I get started?

Penn State Career Services is actively seeking interested, current Penn State undergraduate students (first, second, and third-year students) for Peer Career Assistants with a training start date in the Spring 2022 semester and an employment start date of Fall 2022.  

  • Students of all majors with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others are encouraged to apply
  • Peers will work between 8-12 hours weekly during business hours at the Bank of America Career Services or IST Career Solutions and Corporate Engagement Office,
  • Selected applicants must successfully complete a one-credit course during the spring semester, 2-3 hours of weekly observation hours outside the course, and complete a 2-day training session prior to the start of the fall semester
  • Interested students must submit a resume and cover letter
