UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced changes to campus parking, transit service, and office hours during the University's winter break.

General parking

Friday, Dec. 17, at noon to Sunday, Jan. 2

  • Weekend parking regulations will be in effect, which means that faculty/staff and student permit holders may park throughout the day in all areas normally available to them during evening/weekend hours. This will take effect at noon Friday, Dec. 17.
  • Visitor parking will be available in the East, HUB, Nittany and West decks at no charge from noon Friday, Dec. 17, through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2.
  • Overnight restrictions between 2 and 4 a.m. for the Commuter lots will remain in effect, and all reserved parking spaces such as ADA, service/delivery, etc. will remain reserved.

Monday, Dec. 20, to Friday, Jan. 7

  • Core faculty/staff permits (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) will be valid for parking at the following resident student parking areas: Brown 11 (White Course Apartments), Lot 22 (Eastview Terrace), Lot 81 (South/Pollock Halls), and Lot 82 (East Halls).
  • Faculty/staff Commuter and Evening/Weekend permit holders who wish to gain this additional parking access must visit the Transportation Services Office to purchase a core upgrade permit.

Event parking

  • For the men's basketball games on Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Sunday, Jan. 2; the women's basketball game on Thursday, Dec. 30; and the men's hockey games on Friday, Dec. 31, and Saturday, Jan. 1, fans without a valid Penn State permit or who have not prepaid through ParkMobile by the night before each event will be required to pay the $10 day-of-event parking fee using the ParkMobile app (zone no. 95112) or one of the in-lot pay stations at Jordan East, Stadium West and Porter North.
  • Click here to view prepaid parking options for upcoming athletic events.

Department vehicle parking

  • Departments are asked to relocate University vehicles parked in surface parking areas to one of the campus parking decks during the winter break period.
