Registration for summer 2023 courses at all Penn State campuses will open Thursday, Feb. 2. Students can choose from thousands of summer courses across 24 Penn State campuses.
“Even as we continue to settle into the spring semester, it’s not too early to start planning for summer,” said Kelly Griffith, director of the Office for Summer Session. “In fact, now is an excellent time for students to consider how Penn State may fit into their summer plans and to register for the courses that will fit their academic goals.”
Summer Session can provide students with the opportunity to catch up in their degree programs by taking courses that did not fit into their schedules during the regular academic year or to retake a course that did not go as planned. Students may also wish to get ahead in their degree programs or to make progress toward a minor or certificate.
As in past summers, students have the option to take courses at any Penn State campus, including online through Penn State World Campus. This flexibility is intended to allow students to learn where they are, whether they wish to remain at their regular campus or study at a campus closer to home.
Students can browse the 2023 Schedule of Courses now on LionPATH and find more detailed information about each course in the Undergraduate Bulletin. Registration for summer 2023 classes will open in LionPATH for all students, regardless of credits earned, on Thursday, Feb. 2. Students can begin adding courses to their shopping carts as early as Friday, Jan. 27.
If cost presents a barrier to summer study, the Summer Success Scholarship can help. Students from any campus are eligible for the scholarship if they require at least one summer course to graduate on time and have financial need. Students can learn more and apply before the April 21 deadline at summer.psu.edu/scholarship.
