UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Applications are open as of Aug. 1 for undergraduate admission to Penn State for summer and fall 2024. Students can find application information at admissions.psu.edu. Prospective students can apply through MyPennState or the Common App.
Those who complete the application by Nov. 1 will be considered Early Action (EA) applicants. Students selecting EA will receive a decision by Dec. 24. Students admitted through EA are not obligated to attend Penn State and still have until May 1, 2024, to make their enrollment decision.
The dates and deadlines are:
- Aug. 1, 2023: Applications for undergraduate admission become available
- Nov. 1, 2023: Penn State’s Early Action filing deadline
- Nov. 1, 2023: Schreyer Honors College early deadline for optional interview
- December 2023: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becomes available
- Dec. 4, 2023: Schreyer Honors College final deadline
- Dec. 24, 2023: Early Action applicants will receive their decision (admit, defer, deny)
- Early spring 2024: FAFSA recommended filing date
- May 1, 2024: National Decision Day (enrollment deposits are due)
Test scores on Penn State undergraduate applications will be optional for 2024. Students will be asked on the application if they want to have SAT or ACT test scores included in their evaluation. Students can change their response to the test-optional question as long as the request is submitted prior to receiving an admission decision. More information on test-optional admission is available here.
The FAFSA is currently being updated, which will delay its normal availability date. The FAFSA is expected to be available sometime in December 2023, which will impact the financial aid timeline for Penn State. To learn both the FAFSA recommended filing date and when aid packages will start to be awarded, visit the Office of Student Aid website by January 2024.
