UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Learning, the multi-subject learning and writing center at the University Park campus, will offer math and writing tutoring during Summer Sessions 1 and 2 from May 20 to June 20 and July 1 to Aug. 8.
Penn State Learning will be closed June 19 and July 4 along with the rest of the University in observance of summer holidays.
The Math Center @ Penn State Learning
Summer I math tutoring will be online only from Monday to Thursday with afternoon and evening hours starting May 20. Undergraduate students can schedule appointments with tutors for Math 004 through Math 141, except for Math 033 and 035, through Starfish.
In-person tutoring for Summer II math courses will begin Monday, July 1, at 7 Sparks Building. Students may drop in without an appointment. Tutors will be available Monday through Thursday with some online appointment options (hours TBA).
The Writing Center @ Penn State Learning
Online and in-person writing tutoring is available Monday to Thursday from 2-5 p.m. starting May 20 for Summer I and July 1 for Summer II. Drop-in writing tutoring is available in 220 Boucke Building during these times. Online and in-person appointments are also available via Starfish.
Asynchronous writing tutoring allows students to submit a project for review and receive virtual feedback. Up to six pages of writing can be submitted using the Asynchronous Tutoring Submission Form.
Undergraduate students not enrolled in summer courses can still take advantage of writing tutoring for work outside of the classroom. Contact Tabitha Fisher, writing center coordinator at Penn State Learning, at tdf39@psu.edu.
Student writers attending an in-person or online scheduled session should be prepared to discuss their assignments, questions and concerns, along with their personal strengths and goals for the work.
