Paying Tuition in LionPATH

To pay your student's tuition, you and/or your student will need to be accessed through Penn State’s payment gateway in LionPATH.

To pay your student’s bill, enroll in a payment plan, or access Form 1098-T, your student must add you as an Authorized Payer. Please note that this is in addition to the delegated access you have already been granted via LionPATH for academic information.

GRANTING AUTHORIZED PAYER ACCESS

To grant Authorized Payer Access students should follow these steps:

  • Log in to their Student Center on LionPATH
  • Click on  the "Manage Account/Make Payment" link
  • Select "Add New" under Authorized Payer
  • Please note that all fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory and must be filled in. We recommend that the Authorized Payer's email address be entered in the Authorized User field.
  • After a student grant access, a user ID, temporary password, and login link will be sent to the Authorized Payer.

STUDENT ACCOUNT STATEMENT NOTIFICATION

An email notification will be sent to your student's official Penn State email account (abc123) when the statement is available to view and/or pay on LionPATH. Paper statements will NOT be mailed.  The Student Account Statement includes the amount due for courses enrolled, fees, as well as anticipated aid (grants, accepted loans, or other financial assistance) that is available at the time the statement is prepared.

AUTHORIZED PAYER LOG IN
If you are an Authorized Payer on the student account follow these steps:

  • Login under Authorized Payer public.lionpath.psu.edu
  • Once on the Student Account,  select the "Make a Payment" link on the "Your Account" section.

TUITION DUE DATES

Student Account Statements are prepared on a monthly basis. Billing begins in early August for fall semester, December for spring semester, and May for summer semester.

The  Board of Trustees approves the tuition rates and mandatory fees for the academic year in mid-July.

Payment is due on the 22nd of the month. A 1.5% late fee will be assessed on the student account if payment is not posted to the student account by the due date. Please be advised that payments not made online via LionPATH may take up to 7-10 business days to be received and posted to the student account.
