The Parents Council at University Park serves as resource for parents and families. The Council is comprised of a representative group of University Park parents and family members who make a commitment to volunteer their time and to share their knowledge and expertise across a range of initiatives and programs that support the mission and the goals of the Penn State Parent’s Program and the University as a whole. The Council acts as an advisory group working in close collaboration with the Parent’s Program to help undergraduate parents, families and students foster a positive and lasting connection to Penn State.
“Serving on the Penn State Parents Council have been more rewarding than I imagined. I have met many wonderful families and students that have inspired me,” said Mike Bulone, Parents Council chair.
Parents Council members are asked to attend two meeting a year at the University Park campus and support the Parents Program by welcoming families to the University, sharing their Penn State experience, and developing ways to connect with families. Council members volunteer for special programs, arrival events, and Parents and Families Weekend. Applications are being accepted through November 30, 2020.
